INDEPENDENCE DAY ( On 15th August 2013) : Independence Day was celebrated on 15th August. Principal sir hoisted the national flag at 7:30 am and the national anthem was sung and it is followed by Principal’s address. In his address he highlighted the significance and importance of the Day. A group song was also presented by the students followed by two speeches by two students namely Pratiksha Sarma and Aditya Yadav of class XI.
RAKSHA BANDHAN (On 21st August 2013) : Raksha Bandhan was celebrated in the school on 21st August 2013. The programme started with Mangalacharan by lady teachers of the school followed by a speech of principal sir.He who spoke on the significance of the day. After this Brahmmand Driwedi sir delivered a short speech on the occasion and on its moral values and significance and next the festival followed by tying of Rakhi on Swamiji’s Portrait and on the wrists of all gents teachers by all the lady teachers and boy students by girl students. The students were taken to their respective areas by the teachers to the Rakhis in Baragolai area, Gopaldham Basti, Coal India Office and State Bank of India Margherita Branch. The programme was over by 10 am in school.
JANMASTAMI: celebrated on 28th August 2013 in the school, students of classes KG – V attended the programme. Students came in colourful dresses. The programme started with mangalacharan followed by a Puja of Lord Krishna. A teacher of the school Surendra Mishra sir spoke on the significance of the day. The tiny tots of KG dressed up as Lord little Krishnas and little Radhas and performed a Dandiya dance followed by “ Go as you like” competition on “ Mythological Character” for the students of classes I and II .The programme was concluded with Shantimantra followed by Prasad distribution. At the end of the day “MATKA PHOD” was also an attraction demonstrated by a group of students accompanied by teachers which became the most eye catching programme of the day.
TEACHERS DAY: was celebrated on 5th September 2013 in the school. Class XII students took the classes as acting teachers and class XI students have organized the whole day programme. Classes were held up to 12:30 pm and at 12:30pm such for teachers were offer by the students followed by a cultural pragramme in the school prayer hall where the principal of the school addressed the students and different cultural items were performed by students. The programme concluded with Shanti path.
SRIMANTA SHANKARDEV TITHI was celebrated on 7th Sept 2013 in the school. The programme began with lighting of the lamp by principal sir and mangalacharan by a group of students. A speech on the life and works of Srimanta Shankardev by Smt. Gita Sarma, a teacher of the school followed by a Satriya dance by a group of students. “NAAM” was performed by Ayatis of Purbanchal Namghar Margherita to befit the occasion. At the end prasad was distributed to all.
UNIVERSAL BROTHERHOOD DAY “ Bharat Jago Daur” has been organized from Patkai stadium Ledo to VKV(NEC) Baragolai where near about 350 participants took part . The programme started at Ledo at 7:30 am with Mangalacharan and welcome speech by principal sir followed by a speech by Shri P.P. Bora chief Manager, SBI Margherita. In the concluding ceremony in school prayer hall Vice-principal sir delivered a speech followed by distribution of prizes to the first 10 boys and girls participants with a panel of Swami Vivekananada along with a cash prize first three winners and also a consolidated cash prizes for the first three girls participants followed by the Chicago speech presentation by a student of the school Kumar Amandeep Borthakur of class VIII in Swamijis attire. The days programme ended with Shantipath and snacks distribution for all. Sri B.B. Das (Deputy General Manager) and Nominee Chairman VMC, VKV(NEC)Baragolai and Sri S. Acharjee, Deputy Manager Finance gave away the prizes to students.
GANDHI JAYANTI AND SHASTRI JAYANTI was celebrated in the school on 2nd October 2013. The programme began with lighting of the lamp by principal sir and mangalacharan by a group of students which was followed by a speech on the life and works of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri by a teacher of the school Sanjay Kulkarni sir. A quiz competition among the students of IX to XII and also a drawing competition for the students of class VI – VII on the topic “ SAVE WATER, SECURE FUTURE” was also organized.
