CELEBRATIONS

World Environment Day: The Vidyalaya celebrated the World Environment Day at school in association with ‘Aaranyak’, a society for biodiversity conservation on 5th June 2012. On this occasion Sri Rajeev Tariang, the invited resource person from the society, deliberated at length on ‘Why we should conserve the biodiversity’ and in this connection gave two PowerPoint Presentations on ‘Tarantula’ and ‘Snakes’. The programme was highly appreciated by all the students as well as the teachers. The resource person also gave a demo to one of the Bhaiyas as to how to catch a snake without harming it.

Rabha Divas: The Vidyalaya celebrated Rabha Divas in association with Baragolai Sakha Sahitya Sabha on Wednesday the 20th June 2012. Prior to this on Sunday the 17th June 2012, the school also facilitated the conduct of various competitions among students viz. Rabha Poem Recitation, Rabha Song Performance, Dance Performance on Rabha song and Drawing and Painting. Apart from giving the venue to the Sakha Sahitya Sabha, a few teachers of the school helped the Sakha in conducting the competitions also. Many students of the Vidyalaya got prizes in these competitions.

Sri Krishna Janmastami : It was celebrated in the school on 9th August 2012.The tiny lots of K.G. dressed as Radhas and Krishnas and did performed a dance. Four other students from different classes performed Krishna dances and four others sang some devotional songs and bhajans. Nearly 250 students and 35 parents were present on the occasion

Indepedence day : The 66th Indepedence day was celebrated on 15th August 2012. More than 200 students , teachers and a few parents attended the occasion. The Principal of the school hoisted the flag and spoke on the importance of the day. The students performed patriotic song. The Marchpast group of the school along with a few teachers went to the Central Field Margherita to participate the programme organised by civil authorities.

Shankardev Tithi : On 22nd August 2012 Eknathji Purnyatithi was celebrated in the school along with Srimanta Shankardev Tithi be latedly. Surendra Mishra Sir and Smt Priyanka Devi Didi delivered a speech on Eknathji Ranade and Srimanta Shankardev respectively. a housewise extempore speech competition was held among the junior and senior students. Students performed borgeet followed by diha-naam by the people of Margherita Central Namghar to mark the occasion.

Teachers Day : On 5th Sept. 2012 Teachers Day was celebrated in the school. Sri Guru Charan Das spoke on Teachers' day and the importance of a teacher in a persons life. Class XII students take classes as acting teachers.

Universal brotherhood day: Universal brotherhood day was celebrated in the school on 11th Sept. 2012 in a grand way. The programme was started with Mangalacharan and deep prajwalan followed by welcome song by the students. P.V. Ramesan Sir, Principal, gave welcome speech and felicitated the Chief guest and Guest of honour- Sri. Nripen Borpujari, vice President, Margherita Sports Association and Ujjal Kr Bora, Manager SBI , Margherita respectively. Chicago speech of Swami Vivekananda was presented by a student in swamiji's alise.The Chief guest spoke on the need of brotherhood among the people. He also distributed the certificates to the 10 CGPA holders in AISSE exams sent by CBSE followed by a Satriya dance and Tabla presentation by students of our school.The programme ended with Santipath and then an art and drawing competition was held among the students of different schools of the locality.

Gandhi Jayanti & Shri Shastri Jayanti (Tuesday, October 2, 2012): Two Bhajans were presented by a group of students. Sri Laldeo Yadav delivered a speech on the significance of the day. Thereupon a house wise quiz competition (theme: Mahatma Gandhi) was conducted in the Assembly Hall. It was followed by a blackboard decoration competition for the students of the Secondary Section with the theme ‘Mahatma Gandhi’. 185 students from classes VI to X attended the programme.
